♣
Milonga de Salón Workshop
The original milonga was an Argentine folk rhythm, the new one in a 2x4 format, is quicker than the primitive that used to be sang in verse mode resembling the "habanera" (one of its predecesors). the original milonga had guitar as its only musical instrument. The new milonga has the "little organ" (organillo) and the "bandoneón" as their main musical instruments. Some researchers affirm that the milonga is a separate element itself, however, the milonga is the most definitive and important element of the Argentine tango. In 1890 “El Llorón” was born milonga and was transformed later into a tango. In 1905 Francisco Canaro was already playing it. By then, he declared that “the first tango I learnt how to play from by heart was "El Llorón".
